Details
Tall, hand-shaped steel forms rise from a single base, twisting upward in a composition of movement, balance and changing lines. Made for terraces, balconies, patios and contemporary outdoor spaces, this original rusted steel sculpture combines a strong architectural presence with surprisingly gentle movement.
In a light breeze, the individual forms move softly, each to its own rhythm. Walk around the sculpture and they overlap, separate and create new silhouettes. Solid steel becomes something unexpectedly light, responding to an invisible current of air.
Every sculpture is individually made by hand in my workshop
CHOOSE YOUR SIZE
Each option is one complete sculpture on its own base.
Small: 80 cm / 31.5 in tall, 3 elements, base 15 × 15 cm / 5.9 × 5.9 in
Medium: 120 cm / 47.2 in tall, 4 elements, base 20 × 20 cm / 7.9 × 7.9 in
Large: 150 cm / 59.1 in tall, 4 elements, base 20 × 20 cm / 7.9 × 7.9 in
Extra Large: 180 cm / 70.9 in tall, 4 elements, base 25 × 25 cm / 9.8 × 9.8 in
Within each sculpture, the individual steel forms vary in height. Overall height includes the base and is measured to the highest point.
CREATE YOUR OWN COMPOSITION
One sculpture creates a strong vertical accent. Several pieces become a larger sculptural composition, with different heights and movements interacting in the same space.
The groupings shown in the photographs are suggestions rather than fixed sets. Add each size to your cart separately, or increase the quantity to order several sculptures of the same size.
Placed close together, their flowing forms merge into one expressive silhouette. Spaced farther apart, each sculpture reveals its own movement and character.
SHAPED ENTIRELY BY HAND
I cut, bend and weld every element individually, shaping each curve by eye and feel rather than making identical forms by machine.
Some curves open wider, others turn more tightly. Each sculpture belongs to the same collection, yet develops its own proportions, movement and character.
All tips and edges are carefully rounded and smoothed by hand.
THE PATINA
The surface is genuine rust, developed through controlled oxidation and never painted.
Ochre, burnt orange, copper and terracotta tones shift across the steel, so every surface develops its own character. Subtle variations in colour and texture are an intentional part of the work.
CHOOSE YOUR FINISH
Owatrol Oil: recommended for terraces, balconies, paving and indoor spaces. The oil stabilises the rust, greatly reduces staining and deepens the colour to a richer, darker tone. You can apply an additional coat whenever needed to maintain the protective finish.
Natural: left unsealed so the patina can continue developing with rain, air and changing weather. Best suited to locations where occasional rust-coloured runoff will not affect surrounding surfaces.
INSTALLATION
Each base has a central M8 threaded nut for attaching the supplied fixing rod.
Small and Medium are supplied with one fixing rod.
Large and Extra Large are supplied with five fixing rods, one central rod plus four corner rods, for additional stability.
For installation on wood, stone or concrete, or in particularly exposed and windy locations, please message me before ordering so I can arrange suitable fixings.
FOR TERRACES, BALCONIES AND OUTDOOR SPACES
The sculpture brings height, movement and warm rust tones to contemporary terraces, balconies, patios and architectural spaces.
Place it against timber decking or stone paving, beside a wall, near an entrance, or use it as a freestanding vertical accent. Morning and evening light reveal the texture of the rusted surface. After dark, a small uplight can transform the sculpture again, sending moving shadows across a wall.
And it does not disappear with the summer season. In winter, when outdoor spaces become quieter, its warm rust tones remain, standing out against grey skies and wet stone and creating a sculptural view from indoors.
It works equally well in courtyards, gravel landscapes and contemporary interiors.
